Is a firmer mattress right for me?
A firmer mattress is best designed for back and front sleepers, it is also beneficial for those of a larger stature. For back sleepers, a firmer mattress provides your back with the support it needs for a healthy spinal alignment. For front sleepers, the same reasons apply although you could still wake up in pain due to the added pressure this position applies to your spine. Firmer mattresses are great for those in a heavier weight group since the springs are more rigid so will not strain under the weight like a softer mattress would.
