What are the sizes of duvet covers?
Single, double, king size, the list goes on. But did you know that duvet covers are much larger than the bed size they're designed for? This is so there will be no chance that you're duvet-less at night, especially if you share a bed with a duvet hogger. Below, we highlight the duvet cover sizes in comparison to the size of their mattress counterparts.
Single sets
A single mattress is 90cm x 190cm. In order to ensure you're cosy all night long, its corresponding duvet size is 135cm x 200cm.
Double sets
A double mattress is 135cm x 190cm. The single duvet cover width is the same as the width of a double mattress. The double duvet size is 200cm x 200cm, and this excess covers the whole bed and more to ensure toastiness all night long.
King size duvet sets
A king size bed is 150cm x 200cm, and the duvet is 230cm x 220cm. With 80cm more width of the duvet to snuggle down in, you can surely get a great night's sleep.
Super king duvet sets
The largest of a standard mattress and duvet cover range, the super king bed is 180cm x 200cm. This means that the duvet is a massive 260cm x 220cm.
What are duvet covers made of?
Our duvet sets are available in diverse materials and thread counts, providing different levels of softness and comfort. One of the most common fibres is cotton, with a 200 thread count. However, other duvet sets showcase materials such as microfibre, brushed cotton and teddy fleece, all providing different feels for varying preferences. When purchasing a duvet cover, the material that the bedding is made from is equally as important as the thread count.
Do duvet covers come with matching pillowcases?
Most of our duvet covers are available as sets and arrive with matching pillowcases. The number of pillowcases that come with it depends on the size of the duvet you order. Generally, a duvet cover for single beds is available with one pillowcase. In contrast, our double and larger bedding sets come with two. Each product page will state if pillowcases are included in the bedding sets.
