Planting trees is the cornerstone of Ecologi's success and is generally considered one of the most effective climate solutions; Ecologi is determined to prevent the earth's temperature from rising above 1.5°C by tree planting worldwide.
Ecologi uses its contributions to fund a broad range of projects that centre around reducing or avoiding greenhouse gas emissions; for example, Ecologi has recently protected a globally significant rainforest in Cambodia and has restored degraded land in Senegal.

As is the case with many innovative businesses, a 'lightbulb moment' occurred to the eventual founder of Ecologi, Elliot Coad, on his daily commute to work in 2018. Elliot recognised the frustrating relationship between wanting to preserve planet earth from its increasing climate demise and very few accessible platforms to contribute towards tackling climate change. Elliot pondered how much climate action he could fund with the money for a cup of coffee offsetting the desire to create an accessible and forthcoming business model to become climate positive; he concluded that collective action and the widespread effort of small donations could one day account for reducing half of the world's emissions.
