What is a natural bed?

As the name suggests, a natural bed is constructed entirely from solid wood and therefore doesn't incorporate anything synthetic into its design. Alternatively, natural also refers to a bed's upholstered natural finish with a collection of our beds featuring serene and understated styles.

What types of natural bed frames does Mattressman stock?

Handcrafted and constructed solely from either pine, oak or rubber wood, allowing for durable beds with an elegant appearance, opt for a natural bed frame from our wide range of wooden beds.

Pine

Pine beds tend to be more affordable alternative options to oak whilst remaining robust in stature and glamorous in style. So, look no further than our range of pine wood beds for a quality, natural bed frame at an affordable price.

Oak

Oak is the mainstay, or powerhouse if you like, of wooden bedroom furniture. Undisputed and elegant with a subtle vibrancy, oak beds exude class. With its timeless style, oak seamlessly fits into traditional and modern bedrooms. Moreover, oak is a high-quality wood that stands the test of time.

Rubber wood

Rubberwood is a light-coloured medium-density wood. Rubberwood beds are made from trees grown in rubber plantations; the bed's natural materials indicate an environmentally friendly bed which uses plantation trees that have already served their function.

Upholstered fabric

If you're looking for a modern bed frame that's versatile and can match many colour schemes, consider our range of natural upholstered bed frames.

Ottoman functionality

Many of our wooden and upholstered natural bed frames feature integrated storage options in the form of ottoman functionality. These beds lift from either the side or end of the bed, with the mattress separating from the bed base to reveal a spacious storage area.

Opt for solid or sprung bed slats

Wooden slats reside beneath the mattress either in the form of sprung or solid slat. Sprung slats feature a slightly upwards curve and attribute towards a 'bouncier feel' whereas solid slats add to the mattress's firmness.

What sizes of natural bed frames does Mattressman stock?

Our wooden beds are available in various sizes, from single to king size beds. A single bed generally fits a 3'0" wide and 6'3" long mattress. Our small double beds accommodate a small double mattress that is 4'0" wide by 6'3" long, with our double beds measuring 4'6" wide by 6'3" long and our king size beds measuring 5'0" wide by 6'3" long.

Why should I purchase a natural bed?

Wooden beds are renowned for their style and class and promise to add an abundance of character to the bedroom.

Wood grain aesthetic

Wood grain refers to the arrangement of a wood's fibres as the result of the growth of a tree. When the tree is cut, these fibres reveal beautiful and unique patterns from the grain orientation of the wood, reinforcing the authenticity and craftsmanship of the bed frame.

Responsibly sourced and manufactured

You can be assured that our natural beds are sustainably sourced and environmentally friendly. Furthermore, even when you opt for an alternative bed, wooden beds are recyclable, ensuring that your bed won't end up being discarded or in the landfill.

Complement your natural bed with a natural mattress

A natural mattress is a perfect accompaniment to a natural bed; such is the similarity in their choice of materials. As with a natural bed frame, natural mattresses are made without synthetic materials and instead opt for natural fabrics such as wool, cotton and cashmere, among other luxurious and plush fillings.
