What is PostureTech?

Sealy has worked with orthopaedic surgeons to create an innovative spring system that provides a supportive and great night's sleep. Part of Sealy Posturepedic mattresses, PostureTech is similar to an open coil spring system. Still, it offers more incredible zoned support, even weight distribution, pressure relief and an option for every preferred sleeping position. Patented and exclusive to Sealy, PostureTech springs are responsive to your body, ultimately ensuring you feel refreshed in the mornings. Sealy love to pair its PostureTech springs with various other materials to enhance their comfort even further, whether its soft natural fibres, Sealy Smart fibres or layers of memory foam, luxurious latex or Geltex. Overall, these components work together to provide dependable, unparalleled durability compared to any other mattress manufacturer. Read below to discover what comfort layer best suits you and how you sleep.

Memory foam

Several Sealy mattresses have incorporated a memory foam layer for enhanced comfort. Comprising a material that moves to the contours of your body, memory foam is very responsive and pressure-relieving. Because air seeps out of the thousands of tiny holes that allow the mattress surface to mould to your body, there is minimal airflow in mattresses that incorporate memory foam. Therefore, if you're someone who sleeps hot, you may opt for a mattress that offers more excellent breathability, as described below.

Latex

Posturepedic Sealy mattresses are twice-tempered for excellent durability and longevity. When paired with latex, one of the most durable materials used in the mattress industry, it presents an incredibly long-lasting mattress. Latex is extracted from rubber trees, providing similar body-moulding properties as memory foam when transformed into a mattress comfort layer. However, latex is much more breathable and temperature-regulating than memory foam, perfect for hot sleepers.

Geltex

Do you get too hot at night? Geltex could undoubtedly be the answer for you. Designed to regulate your body temperature as you sleep, it fuses air-permeable foam with elastic gel to create a material that ensures outstanding breathability. When you move at night, the Geltex layer will promote cool airflow, allowing body heat to dissipate quickly. So, for all those hot sleepers out there, Geltex PostureTech mattresses are brilliant for providing support and temperature regulation.

Sealy mattresses and sustainability

Sealy has done much to champion environmental objectives across the board. Sealy is continuously advocating for environmental responsibility and sustainability. They are committed to continually assessing their targets to improve their sustainable performance, working towards a zero landfill policy and local initiatives.

How to find the perfect Sealy mattress for me

Support firmness

Preferred side sleepers

For anyone who prefers to sleep on their side, we recommend selecting a Sealy Posturepedic mattress that offers soft or medium support. This is so the mattress surface can cushion pressure points such as the shoulders and hips, ensuring healthy spinal alignment is promoted throughout the night.

Preferred back or stomach sleepers

A firmer mattress is generally best suited if you prefer to sleep on your back or stomach. The firm sleeping surface will ensure your back is resting naturally, keeping any aches or pains at bay. If you're already affected by back or joint pain, consider an extra firm mattress instead. This is because the extra rigidity ensures your spine and other body areas cannot rest in a way that will exacerbate existing problems.

Combination sleepers

Do you find yourself sleeping on your side, back and stomach? A medium firm mattress is both soft and firm enough to support you across all sleeping positions. Therefore, they can provide the ultimate comfort you need to get a good night's sleep.

Mattress size

At Mattressman, we stock most standard UK mattress sizes for the Sealy Posturepedic and PostureTech ranges. These include single (90 x 190cm), double (135 x 190cm), king size (150 x 200cm) and super king size (180 x 200cm). You can find the mattress size appropriate for any bedroom size in the Sealy Posturepedic range.

Fillings

Do you suffer from a dust mite allergy? If so, you will want to consider a hypoallergenic mattress. Luckily, Sealy Posturetech mattresses that include Sealy Smart fibres have received approval from Allergy UK. What's more, latex is naturally hypoallergenic, another great option if you don't have a latex allergy. For anyone free of allergies, you can choose any mattress that suits your needs, including beds with natural fillings.
