Snuggle Beds Amberley Wooden Bed

Love it! Great value. Bought for a large son with learning difficulties who is just too big for a single and quite boisterous! The reason I went for a wooden is simple. If it starts to break in any way you can always repair it or re-enforce it! He has had other beds made of aluminium tubing or something that resembles dried up porridge, and they are just impossible to repair. So, whilst this might be the budget end of the wooden ones, I know I can make it a bit stronger if I need to. Assembly fairly easy, but two points: firstly, the ends have two tiny screw holes to attach the centre supporting bar to, so make sure the ends are the right way around. Secondly, and my only criticism with the manufacture, screwing down the supporting planks was quite hard sometimes, because the spacer provided sometimes meant you could not get the screw right in, because it was right above the pre-installed metal screws holding the sides and the supporting rail together. One screw was hitting another is what I mean. So I could not put them all completely parallel or equal distance apart. Not a very big deal, just worth noting. But a very good price for a wooden bed and YES I WOULD RECCOMEND.

Came very well packaged in boxes. No damages or dents. The wooden slates have a little mold on it but removable. Cutting was rather rough, be careful with splinters. The frame itself feels quite solid, coating has a matted finishing with no sharp edges. One hole on each pole for me was suppose to be for the wooden peg, but wasn't big enough, I just didn't put them in because it's the screws that really hold up the structure. Be sure to distinguish between the screws to be used with brackets and those don't (their threads are different), as they look quite similar, otherwise you might waste time undoing. The booklet asked to not use power tools, but I still find it helpful to do so, just that I would stop a few mm before it's tighten and use the manual tool to prevent over tightening. Once put together, it feels sturdy not wobbly. It does continue to give off wood smell now and then that does not seem to go away quickly. Not irritating eyes, nose and throat though. Sometimes unnoticeable, sometimes a bit stronger.

This surprised us as to how good it looks when assembled. We bought this for our spare bedroom for guests to stay over, it's what we call 'a cuddly double', as not full standard size which suits the space we have, but it's absolutely fine for guests staying over we feel. It does take 2 people to construct if you want a tight, balanced, quicker, build, and the overall finish is very good value for money, once you work out the construction details. It represents good value for money we feel.

Excellent value for money, very sturdy bed. There are two supporting legs in the middle. Was worried about delivery but it was great, was updated by phone with time on the day, and driver put the boxes into my hallway which was good of him (thank you) First time using this company, will definitely use again ????????

Bought this for my son and for the first time I didn't regret it. Usually buy beds and they don't meet the photo or description standards. But this bed has exceeded them all. Looks durable, study and firm. Has a smooth feel and no noise when moving around . Over all in love with this purchase.
