Bed feels really sturdy and headboard gives lots of support. The base was easy to put together, though putting the slats in was troublesome as some of the slats were difficult to put in as didn't line up with the holes in the frame. To get around this we used a hammer to knock the plastic end caps further into the slats. My only gripe which seems standard for ottoman beds is that they aren't very deep, which seems odd considering the whole idea is about storage.
