What is CoolMemory?
CoolMemory is an open-cell memory foam manufactured to allow more airflow than traditional closed-cell memory foam. The open structure lets warm air escape from the mattress rather than building up against your body, keeping the sleeping temperature more consistent through the night. The foam still moulds to your body shape for pressure relief, just without the heat retention.
Who does it suit?
CoolMemory is a useful option for sleepers who want the pressure-relieving feel of memory foam but find traditional memory foam too warm. That includes hot sleepers generally, menopausal sleepers, and couples where one person sleeps hot and the other doesn't. It's often paired with a pocket sprung base for added breathability.
How does it compare to gel foam?
CoolMemory and gel foam both aim to cool memory foam down, but they get there differently. Gel foam uses gel beads or infusions to absorb and dissipate body heat; CoolMemory uses an open cell structure that lets air through. In practice, sleepers who try both often find one suits them noticeably better, so a sleep trial is worth taking advantage of.
