Arthur Sleep King Arthur Mattress

My review for this mattress comes with the proviso that I have only owned and slept on it for about 4 weeks and so cannot comment on its durability and long-term comfort. That said, I have been delighted by this mattress from day one, particularly in respect of its quality and comfort for the relatively modest price versus the 3-times as expensive Hypnos mattress I was used to (a Hypnos Orthopedic Platinum which despite having a 10-year guarantee was shot at after just 4 years!). I was very impressed with how quickly and efficiently Mattressman retailers packaged and speedily delivered my European single King Arthur mattress (which was a replacement for my half of a Super-King-size bed). The one-time careful opening of the compressed and vacuum-packed mattress was fascinating and I left it 24 hours before sleeping on it as instructed. I was then very pleased that my sleeping improved markedly from day one and has continued ever since. It is a very comfy and supportive mattress, and incredible value for money. Time will tell how robust and durable it will be after a year or two of it being pounded by my 16+ stone weight as a side sleeper, but early indications are good ... and quite frankly, I have wasted so much money on expensive mattresses that are no better and often significantly worse which take ages to bed in properly and become comfy, and so I am now a King Arthur mattress and Mattressman convert. So if you want a comfy mattress that is good to go from day one and at a very reasonable price with fast and free delivery, I can highly recommend this mattress and manufacturer/retailer.

The last mattress I bought I tried loads and went to lots of bed showrooms, finally I thought I had found the perfect mattress however it’s never been as comfortable as the one in the showroom and It cost £1,500, I question if the show room mattress was actually the same as the one I had delivered. This was not from Mattress man. The Arthur sleep king mattress I bought from Mattress man because of the great reviews online and the great price. I didn’t try before delivery and i’m not disappointed, it’s really comfortable just like all the reviews said. I have slept so much better and with less pain. ( I have back problems) plus mattress man do a 60 day trial if you’re not happy you can return up to 60 days after. So I felt more confident to buy without trying first. Also Mattress man service has been fantastic, Great communication from ordering to delivery. Please be careful though when taking the mattress out of the plastic wrapper as it arrives rolled up approximately 30cms x 135cms ( double bed ) also make sure there’s no children in the room and don’t stand in front of the mattress go as far to the side as possible to open as when my mattress was opened on the bed base at arms length it sprung open and jumped about 3ft off the bed forwards and upwards. This mattress is about 35 cms deep once the springs and top have fully expanded and very heavy so could easily cause serious injuries if you stand too near when opening. I would definitely recommend this mattress but not if you like a really soft mattress. it’s more medium than firm but definitely not soft.

The first night i thought i had made a hugh mistake as I woke up with an aching back and hips, but I now know that this was my spine aligning itself to its correct position with the help of this magnificent bed. I have ongoing spine problems and awaiting a hip replacement but this bed has/is a game changer for me. I would say the bed is true to what it says, medium firm. You can push the matress down with one hand but you notice that the memory foam topping cushions it. Thus giving support but enough 'give' so that the spine and hips are not subjected to too firm a mattress which can actually cause more damage to the joints. The depth of the mattress is sumptuous approx 20cm and the stitching and composition look very professionally done. It is quite a heavy mattress for me, I'm 5ft4 and 9st 7, so I will have to ask my son to turn it around after 6 months. It is not reversible and I am glad about this. I can't comment on the durability as I've only had it for 10 days, but I must say that this mattress is fabulous and exceeded my expectations, and I am truly happy I purchased it. Thank you.

I have been suffering from lower back pain for the past year, I am small and slim and have a very hollow back. When I was getting out of bed in the morning the pain was very bad and I couldn't straighten up. I put a wooden board under my mattress and I could straighten up after that but my back was still painful all the time. I bought the king Arthur Mattress which arrived the day after ordering, it's very high which makes it easier to get in and out of bed. The first night I didn't sleep at all, the second and 3rd night's sleep were a little better by the fourth night I slept really well and have been sleeping quite well ever since, which is amazing for me as I have suffered with insomnia since I was a baby, I don't go bed until 2.am and I get up at 6 am but since having this mattress, I have been going to bed earlier and getting up later for the first time in my life. My back pain has improved by 90%. I have only had it for, three weeks so I hope this will keep up.

Really impressed with this mattress. (3’ Single). Delivered on time by a very polite man. Followed instructions about unpacking. I still can’t believe this deep mattress was packed in a box. I have slept better every night so far. It is such an improvement on my old mattress. I use a topper as well. It feels like a quality product to lay on. I would say it is medium/firm. I need this as I have arthritis in my lower back and also a newish hip. It fitted my base perfectly. I must add that it the mattress is much higher than my old one. My feel don’t touch the floor unless I sit right on the edge. I’m 5’6. I even had to buy another set of steps for my little rescue dog, as she couldn’t get up. She also loves it too. Would highly recommended this for a single mattress. Very happy with my purchase.

After initially being a bit concerned about ordering a mattress online without seeing it beforehand, I needn’t have worried at all. This mattress is incredible. It is soft enough for me as a front sleeper, and supportive enough for my partner who is a side/back sleeper. It’s unbelievably comfortable, our sleep has improved so much and neither of us are waking up with aches and pains anymore. I wish I’d bought it sooner. It is a very deep mattress so had to buy new sheets but well worth it for the comfort. Unrolled and in shape within an hour but we left it for the day to air out. There was no smell at all when the mattress was unwrapped. Happy with delivery too, was able to track the item and it was delivered to room of choice and old mattress recycled with no issues.
