How does AlignSupport work?
Most pocket sprung mattresses use springs of a single gauge across the whole surface. AlignSupport uses three or more zones with different spring gauges, so the central section of the mattress (where most of your body weight sits) holds you up more firmly, while the head and foot end give a softer feel. The aim is a more natural spinal alignment without forcing the sleeper onto a uniformly firm surface.
Who benefits from zoned support?
Zoned springs work particularly well for side sleepers, where the shoulder needs more cushion than the hip and the hip needs more support than the shoulder. They also help back sleepers by keeping the lumbar region from sagging. Back pain sufferers often find zoned mattresses more comfortable than uniformly firm ones for the same reason.
