How can I tell if I need to change mattresses?
It’s recommended that you change your mattress every seven years, but of course it varies — a high-quality mattress may last much longer, while a low-quality mattress may not last as long. Consider whether it takes you a long time to get to sleep, whether you wake up during the night, whether you have aches and pains in the morning — any of these things could be due to you mattress no longer giving you proper support. If your mattress is sagging, lumpy or worn, it’s probably time to make a change.

How much should I spend on a new mattress?
We recommend that you spend as much as you can afford on a new mattress. Your mattress is an investment, and the better quality it is, the longer it will last. You spend around a third of your time in bed, so it’s well worth buying a good mattress to ensure that you sleep comfortably.

What mattress is best for me?
The perfect mattress differs from person to person, but we do our best here at Mattressman to help you find yours. You can filter our mattresses by tension, structure, fillings, price and more. Every mattress has extensive specifications, so it’s easier for you to decide if it’s the right one for you.

Do you do EU/US/special sizes?
If a standard size mattress isn’t right for you, we can build special size mattresses up to 7’x7’. Please see our Special Sizes page for more information.

Can I test your mattresses before I buy?
We have stores across East Anglia, the East Midlands, and Greater London. Please check our store page to find your nearest store. You’re welcome to come in and try out our mattresses, and our store staff will be happy to help you make a decision.

Can you assemble my bed frame?
If you find that part of your bed frame, including fixings or instructions, is missing, please call Customer Services with your MM number on 0800 0433443, or 0333 5775773 to use mobile minutes.

Does my bed frame come with a mattress included?
No bed frame comes with a mattress included unless specifically stated.

FAQ's for Divans

Why do I have to place my order by 3pm to get a Designer Divan delivered the next day?
We make all Designer Divans to order in the British Bed Company factory. To make it easier to complete all orders, we ask that you order your divan by 3pm to be eligible for next day delivery, as opposed to the standard 4pm.

I placed my order for a Designer Divan by 3pm, but have been told I won’t receive it tomorrow. Why?
We do our very best to deliver your Designer Divan the next working day after you place your order. However, as we build such a large number of divans and offer a huge range of options for customisation, on occasion we may not have all components in stock. We will do our best to build your divan base and send it out to you as soon as possible.

I bought something from you a few years ago — what happened to my account?
In keeping with our new, easy-to-use website, we’ve got rid of the need to log in to an account to place an order. This means you don’t need to remember a username or password, and the checkout process is much simpler for you.

Do you match the prices of other retailers?

Do I get a discount if I buy a bed frame or divan with a mattress?
We do not offer this unless it is part of a sale or through a voucher code.

How do I use a voucher code?
If you have a voucher code, you can enter it at the checkout when placing your order. If you have any issues with a voucher code, please check it is in date and then call Customer Services on 0800 0433443, or 0333 5775773 to use mobile minutes.

The item I want to buy has a lead time next to it. Can I still order it?
Yes, you can. When your items arrive in stock we will contact you to arrange delivery.

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept most major credit and debit cards, including Visa, Delta, Mastercard and Switch. We also use PayPal and another secure payment called Sage Pay. If you’re buying in store, we can also accept cash or cheque.

Can I make a change to my order?
