Are you undecided whether a pocket-coil king size mattress is value for money? Then why don’t you consider sleeping on it.
A furniture store in Edmonton is offering a “sleep room” for mattresses. The first room like it in Alberta. At McElheran’s Fine Furniture customers can test out
mattresses with a nap for up to three hours. The rooms have been recently refurbished that include top quality sheets, bathrobes, soft jazz and even flat screen TV’s. Owner Jeff McElheran commented that shoppers aren’t able to appreciate the exact feel of a mattress in a showroom. He also said that when most people are buying a mattress they tend to lay on it for around 30 seconds. For something that you are going to spend about 8 hours a day on this isn’t a lot of time when making a decision.
The room was completed at a cost of $8,000 to $10,000. There are no overnight stays allowed due to security reasons.
Mr McElheran thinks this concept is a first in Edmonton; it is already used in Eastern Canada, the U.S and Europe.
