Leather Bed Frames
Leather Bed Frames have always been an excellent choice for those looking for a new stylish bed. Not so long ago a leather bed frame would have cost you hundreds of pounds. Thanks to the magic of science, synthetic materials have been developed that are almost identical to real leather and costs are much lower. In many respects faux leather is seen as being much better than its genuine counterpart. Real leather can contain natural flaws that sometimes do not look as attractive as its faux counterpart. Faux leather is available in a vast amount of colours and not just the neutral browns or blacks that real leather is available in. Faux leather is also available in a variety of finishes such as glossy or matt.

How can you tell the difference between real leather and faux leather?
Well to be quite honest, faux leather and real leather are almost completely indistinguishable from one another. The only telling features of real leather is that most genuine leather products will have a real leather tag labelling it as such and the price! Faux leather beds are much less expensive than real leather beds.
So what is faux leather made from?
Faux leather is made by repeatedly coating an unprocessed piece of cotton in a mixture of linseed oil, drying agents and a colour solution. The coated cloth is then passed through metal rollers to compress and bind all of the ingredients. This is done until the desired effect is achieved. Once the drying and dying process has been completed, the fabric is then ready for its final finish. To produce a matt finish the cloth is left to dry as is, if a glossy finish is required a coat of copal varnish is applied and then dried.
